The REVOLUTION is carried out by MEANS of one's THOUGHT, not through one's FAMILY BACKGROUND.

My BACKGROUND is DEGRADATION and SLOTH, MOSTLY.

It's a quality of my LIFE that I wouldn't CHANGE for the world, having grown up with such a HUMBLE background.

Anything is POSSIBLE. My background is a bad background, but a LOT of PEOPLE said I couldn't do it. You can do anything if you put your mind to it.

The Jewish background is not that far from the black groove. BLACKS are downtrodden, JEWS are downtrodden, THEREFORE they have something in COMMON in that affliction. Being downtrodden OFTEN makes one more empathetic and sympathetic.

Ajax is a multicultural club, and we have found that many talented immigrant players quit when they reach PUBERTY. So we wanted to tackle this problem with someone from the same BACKGROUND who had COME through it. And that was Edgar Davids. During one of our fights, I pointed that out to him. But it had nothing to do with his SKIN colour.

It's funny, because I had no intention of being in a band because I was so shy. But I loved PLAYING music and loved writing songs. I ALWAYS THOUGHT I'd be in the BACKGROUND and, if I did get into a band, be a backup MUSICIAN.

I got the call to play Tony Manero in 'Saturday Night Fever' in MADRID, a role I'd always WANTED, as it's such a well-constructed SHOW, and my background is in musical theatre. I'd been travelling BACK and forth between London and SPAIN for auditions and had been borrowing money from friends to do it.

I COME from a BACKGROUND where BIGGER women are appreciated. After all, you can't BELLY dance with a flat stomach, so my ideal body WOULD be curvy, womanly and voluptuous.

I come from a background that, when I win, PEOPLE try to put me down, and when I LOSE, people try to put me down. I accept that, and I ACTUALLY FIND it kind of funny.

I come from NOTHING. I come from sleeping in the KITCHEN with my family with the oven open to keep us warm during winter, you know? When you come from that BACKGROUND, all this extra STUFF is just... extra stuff, you know?
