I'm not one of those COMPLICATED, mixed-up CATS. I'm not LOOKING for the secret to life... I just GO on from day to day, taking what comes.

The first Knightfall STORY is FOUR ISSUES, and it is extremely focused and intense. People who have read, say, the 'Cats In the Cradle' arc in 'Secret Six' will get some idea of the primal TONE of this story. It doesn't let up at all, and it ends in a new PLACE.

If I'm to be an 'ist' then, like Bobby Kennedy, I'm probably more of a FREE market capitalist than an environmentalist. Rather than WANTING to tell people to be less bad, I'm SAYING let's make it FAIR across the board and stop subsidizing the big heavy-polluting fat cats, let's make it a level playing FIELD.

My TRAGEDY is that all I WANT is a dog, and yet I have been cursed with cats all my LIFE.

I have STUDIED MANY philosophers and many CATS. The wisdom of cats is infinitely SUPERIOR.

When I was a young BOY, I preferred CATS to dogs. From the age of seven or EIGHT onwards I just FELT more comfortable with cats. And I felt more comfortable with girls, I didn't really like HANGING out with guys. When I was about ten or eleven, I was friendlier with the girls in my school than with the guys.

I WORK with the HUMANE SOCIETY a lot and have three RESCUE cats.

It's like that Simpsons joke - they're filming a cow in a movie and they go, 'OK, we'll tape a BUNCH of cats together to make a cow', and it's like, 'Why don't you just use a cow?'. For some REASON that is NOVEL - like, 'Oh, my GUITAR sounds like a piano and now if I can just get my piano to SOUND like my guitar'.

I work with DOGS and cats all day long. I work by myself, for myself. I'm around 15 or 20 dogs EVERY day of my life. It's just LIKE WRESTLING.

People PLANTED seeds into me. Older CATS gave me the GAME. My family, especially my mother, gave me the game and I pass it on. That's what it's about. If somebody gives you mental jewelry and you wear it for so long, you want to GIVE it to somebody else for them pass it on.

I LOVE CATS because I ENJOY my home; and little by little, they BECOME its visible soul.

I live alone, with cats, books, pictures, FRESH vegetables to COOK, the garden, the hens to FEED.

I WORK in a room overlooking the river. I try to get to my desk as soon as I've fed my cats and chickens. I use a blue 3B pencil and SCRIBBLE AWAY for about 20 pages before transferring it to the COMPUTER.
