I really like women who are ABLE to be CLASSY and poised and really well put together when the time is right, but ALSO be complete CLOWNS.

I was always WRITING. I was writing in high school because it was a really competitive school for class clowns; I USED to have to write all of my snaps and my disses the night before and then ACT like I was making it up the NEXT day.

Red House Painters were doing cover songs before our FIRST RECORD DEAL. I remember LIVE shows where we did an AC/DC song; I think we did 'Send In The Clowns' by Judy Collins. We did 'The Star Spangled Banner,' which came out on our third record.

We shared the same FEARS as kids - snakes and CLOWNS. Now we ALSO have more ADULT fears, like television CRITICS.
