I have some FRIENDS who are COMEDIANS but not MANY.

I need WRONG to GET laughs. I need a normal world so that I can be ABNORMAL, and that's my PROBLEM. COMEDIANS need prejudice.

In REAL LIFE, COMEDIANS aren't FUNNY.

I've ALWAYS FELT so unconnected to other COMEDIANS.

Eddie Murphy did '48 Hrs.' because that was the only movie offered to him. And he killed it. Bill Cosby did 'I SPY' because that was the TV show he was offered. But now, there are networks dedicated to COMEDY, and the Internet... it's so easy for comedians to not do THINGS that aren't true to them.

There's a fallacy with STAND up comedy, which is, PEOPLE come up to comedians, and they go, 'You say what I THINK but I'm not brave ENOUGH to say,' and that's not particularly TRUE.

The IMAGE people have of COMEDIANS staring defiantly over a stationary line of good TASTE is simply inaccurate. We don't approach this line, put our toes over it arrogantly and then scamper back to safety. The line doesn't exist.

The tragedy for COMEDIANS is there's nothing more they want than to be LIKED. We desperately SEEK approval. It's almost LIKE a PERSONALITY disorder you can do as a job.

There's a mixture of PRIDE and self-loathing in Jewish FEMALE comedians that I've always admired and WANTED to bring into Jinkx.

Everyone forgets comedians are actors. There's no question about it. A Robin Williams cannot say the same line every NIGHT for 40 weeks and MAKE it sound FRESH unless he's doing an acting job.

As comedians, we are all LAUGHING because LIFE is so horrible. Life is so difficult, and I cope with it by MAKING jokes about absolutely EVERYTHING.
