The American who FIRST DISCOVERED Columbus made a BAD DISCOVERY.

Before printing was DISCOVERED, a CENTURY was equal to a THOUSAND YEARS.

When I began competing with the other artists in New York, I DISCOVERED CLASSICAL NORTH Indian MUSIC.

Over the years, I've discovered that lessons in cooking COME in TWO forms. There are the lessons that you never fully learn; skills that you get better and better at, but never quite perfect. Then there are the lessons that you only need to learn once because the RESULTS of not following them will literally scar you for LIFE.

I DISCOVERED that I was part of a PARKINSON's community with similar experiences and similar QUESTIONS that I'd been dealing with ALONE.

I didn't know what my passion was until I discovered the dramatic ARTS in JUNIOR HIGH and high school and I realized, 'Oh, I like this. This is something I feel like I'm good at.' But, the idea of moving to Hollywood and becoming an actor was REALLY UNREALISTIC.

Most people in the U.K. discovered me playing a standard on PARKINSON. In America, it was on VH1 singing an ORIGINAL called 'All At Sea,' which is a contemporary pop song. So the people that KNOW me there TEND to THINK of me in the singer/songwriter category.

Because our generation has waited so long to have BABIES, we feel we've 'discovered' something that women have been doing for THOUSANDS of years. I have no illusions that I will be in the same situation as the average working MOTHER. I'm not trying to PROVE ANYTHING - I just want to have kids.

When I was 16 and arrived in France, I discovered chocolate mousse. I was CRAZY about the BREAD, too. Every morning, I'd go to the bakery and get a fresh croissant. It MADE me FEEL very SOPHISTICATED.

At the BEGINNING of this album I discovered the COMPUTER and had great fun playing with the THING. And I realized that, not being a good keyboard player, I could write things in very small sections, give them a CERTAIN feel and MESS about with bends on the keyboard.

When I discovered minimal MUSIC I felt I could CREATE my vision - it was TOTALLY different to traditional music.

In college, when a girlfriend asks you to WATCH a film in black and white, you do it. That's when I discovered a LOT of films. I was really obsessed with Bergman, the whole world he creates. One that I always quote a lot is 'Autumn Sonata.' When you SEE women go through ISSUES with their MOM, you realize how right and poignant Bergman was.

I LOVED science, and when I discovered Buddhist meditative practices and martial ARTS, I was able to bridge those ways of KNOWING the world into my own unique WAY. From that GREW the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, which became my karmic assignment.

The regions of the North Pole situated WITHIN the eighty-fourth degree of north latitude have not yet been utilized, for the very GOOD REASON that they have not yet been DISCOVERED.
