I do not concern myself much with reading LONG COMMENTARY volumes designed to enlarge at length upon that which is found in the scriptures. Rather, I prefer to dwell with the source, tasting of the unadulterated waters of the fountain of truth - the WORD of God as he gave it and as it has been recorded in the books we ACCEPT as scripture.

I'm particularly FOND of the Mulholland FOUNTAIN, at Riverside DRIVE and LOS Feliz Boulevard, when it turns colors at night.

I wanted to be the next Dana Carvey. This was my ultimate goal. If I ever cut into a birthday CAKE and MADE a wish, I WOULD wish to be on 'Saturday Night Live.' If I threw a coin into a FOUNTAIN, I would wish to be on 'Saturday Night Live.' If I saw a shooting star, I would wish to be on 'Saturday Night Live.'

There was one 'crime' during the whole time I was at school, when a FOUNTAIN pen went missing. STEALING just didn't HAPPEN. I was taught not to shoplift, not to steal, not to behave badly. We weren't even allowed to drop LITTER.

San DIEGO shaped me a lot. The visual landscapes, the emotional panoramas, the TEACHERS and mentors I had from the third grade through San Diego High - it's all a big part of the poetry FOUNTAIN that I continue to DRINK from.

I drank from colored water fountains and from the WHITE water FOUNTAIN just to see what it was like when I was a kid. What shocks me is that these kids TODAY don't realize that this happened in many of our lifetimes.

Look within. Within is the FOUNTAIN of good, and it will EVER BUBBLE up, if thou wilt ever DIG.

I'm a writer; as SOON as I IMAGINE what would happen if I FOUND the fountain of youth, it turns into a dystopia in my head.

The PUBLISHERS, as I REMEMBER at the very beginning of my career, wrote letters with their FOUNTAIN pens. A letter is DIFFERENT from a phone call or fax. It's a different kind of intimacy. That pervaded the entire business of writing and PUBLISHING.

A FILM is a petrified FOUNTAIN of THOUGHT.
