I WANT my GRANDCHILDREN to be PROUD of me. That's the MAIN THING.

I do not want our children and GRANDCHILDREN to live in a WORLD where EVERYDAY they fear some regional strongman with weapons of mass destruction. We need to SEND a message to these future would-be bullies: you will not be allowed to threaten the world.

Telling my grandchildren stories of my growing up is some of our FAVORITE TIMES spent together. They WANT to know what it was like and what I did as a child. They seem to be especially INTERESTED in the organic and simplistic setting I grew up in.

My REAL achievement is my DAUGHTER and my THREE beautiful GRANDCHILDREN.

You can GIVE your Social Security check to any organization, public or PRIVATE, or to individuals. You can donate it to your favorite political PARTY. You can give the funds to a student scholarship - for your grandchildren, for example - or to somebody who has a medical need. Or you can invest your government check in FREE ENTERPRISE.

All of us would like to have our children and their grandchildren GROW up with at LEAST the level of prosperity that we had. In the U.S., we SEEM to be very selfish because the older GENERATION is not MAKING the sacrifices.

Career politicians in D.C. have shirked their responsibility to us for decades. At EVERY turn, they've kicked the can down the ROAD, PUSHING the burdens of our problems and our debts onto our children and grandchildren.

GRANDCHILDREN are the Furbies of the offspring world. They're cute, they're funny, you can play with them and then PUT them away when they START to get on your NERVES.

Your SONS weren't MADE to LIKE you. That's what GRANDCHILDREN are for.

The easiest thing that is DONE, unfortunately, in WASHINGTON is to SPEND money today and SEND the bill to our children and GRANDCHILDREN.

FRIENDS often tell me how much their GRANDCHILDREN enjoy 'Are You Being SERVED?' It doesn't matter that they were not even born when it was broadcast, or that they BELONG to a very different world.

Laughing a lot is really GOOD for you, embracing your children's future and embracing your GRANDCHILDREN, and not having REGRETS and not being BITTER and not being ANGRY.

They've lived here now for more than HALF of their lives, and they raised a family here and now have GRANDCHILDREN here... It has BECOME their home, but at the same time, for my PARENTS, I don't think either of them will ever consciously think, 'I am an American.'

I've three children, three GRANDCHILDREN, I WORK, I travel, and I'm very happily married. I'm very satisfied and happy with my life and there really isn't ANYTHING I WANT.

I'm not as CONCERNED about me. What's HAPPENED to me has been GREAT. I got five great kids. SEVENTEEN grandchildren.
