I have a VISION of EDUCATION that spans from early childhood to K-12 to college to the workforce. Because every STEP along the way is important: a chance for our STATE to do right by our kids and their parents - or to let them down.
Whether the task is fixing health care, upgrading K-12 EDUCATION, bolstering NATIONALSECURITY, or a host of other MISSIONS, the U.S. is better at patching problems than fixing them.
All I suggest is to MAKE K-12 like higher education. Higher education in the United States is the best in the world because these institutions COMPETE with each other for your tuition dollar. Let's just BRING competition to PUBLIC education.
Too often, teachers ASSUME that they are introducing a book or concept to students for the first TIME. In FACT, many units are repeated over the course of a student's K-12 experience.
