Growing up in South JERSEY, I have always been an Eagles fan. I don't PAINT my face or anything like that, but I deeply CARE about the TEAM.

I NEVER PAINT DREAMS or NIGHTMARES. I paint my own REALITY.

Definitely, my whole LIFE I've played as a point GUARD. I've tried to get in the PAINT, and I've tried to develop for OTHERS.

I've gotten BETTER at CALLING out coverages, communication, and being vertical when they're attacking me in the paint.

As LONG as you're true to you, you believe it and you make OTHERS believe it, then what you're doing is just art. If you give EVERYBODY a blank CANVAS and some paint, not everybody's picture is going to be exactly the same, but it's still art. I just do what I do.

I USED to WANT to be a writer or a PAINTER, although I couldn't PAINT very well.

Kyrie, he's got a big personality. He's one of these GUYS that's misunderstood. The way that he's construed in the media is probably GOING to paint him in a light that is not necessarily true. I'd SAY you COULD ask a lot of people that PLAYED with him and they'd all say that he's a great teammate and a good guy to be around.

You don't have to get all the WAY into the PAINT to still DRAW attention or get CONTACT.

In 1984, I was contacted by Michael Taylor, who had won a commission from a sponsor and DECIDED he would LIKE to paint a picture of me. I agreed to do it, because I'm not UNUSED to sitting for portraits: my father was a commercial ARTIST and I used to MODEL for him.

My WORK is not about paint. It's about paint at the service of something else. It is not about gooey, chest-beating, macho '50s ABSTRACTION that allows paint to sit up on the SURFACE as subject MATTER about paint.
