More than 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does nationally is preventive CARE - including cervical CANCER screenings, breast cancer screenings, and family planning - mostly for WOMEN with low resources and income below the poverty LINE.

Having children, entering the REALM of parents and parenthood, changes our relationship to the world in WAYS we could not have anticipated and might not have signed up for. Before I had children, for EXAMPLE, I BELIEVED strongly in the nobility of SUFFERING.

I did not BELIEVE and I do not believe that PLANNED Parenthood should be defunded.

Maybe it's just parenthood that puts you in a situation where you just have to DEVELOP a NEW attitude, I GUESS, about things.

Our Committee should be focusing on REAL priorities - improving health care, combating CLIMATE change, CREATING JOBS and making products safer - not attacking Planned Parenthood and undermining WOMEN's access to critical services.

We SHOOT with three cameras, try to shoot both sides of coverage if possible. That allows the actors to overlap and to find moments that FEEL more authentic and real than what you SOMETIMES WOULD normally get in a scripted drama that's SHOT more classically. And that's something in 'Parenthood' that has evolved.

I THINK there's definitely a way to tell a STORY, to also look at marriages that are working, but find drama from what's CHALLENGING them. That's what I think, certainly, 'Parenthood' is kind of about: the unexpected things that come up in your life that challenge you as a man, as a WOMAN, as a husband and a WIFE, and as a parent.

I FEEL like not only are 'Parenthood' fans PASSIONATE, but that passion has grown over the RUN of the show and people got more invested as the show has gone on. That really does help KEEP shows on the air.

The STORIES in 'Parenthood' are so much the stories of our lives. And the PEOPLE who have worked on the SHOW feel very CONNECTED to these CHARACTERS.

I think that the one thing about 'Parenthood' is that, while it's never been a HUGE out-of-the-box HIT, it's always been solid. We've always KEPT our AUDIENCE.

My father and mother have given me so much LOVE, so much SUPPORT, that it would trivialize their parenthood if I would reduce it just to basketball. But my dad does call me before and after every game. And when we lost a game we shouldn't have, he told me it wasn't my fault. And I APPRECIATED that, because he was TRYING to pick me up.

Parenthood can be very REWARDING, but let's FACE it, so are margaritas at the adults-only POOL.

There's a LOT of progress happening in TV. You have AMAZING shows LIKE 'How to GET Away With Murder.' You have people like Shonda Rhimes, Lee Daniels with 'Empire,' and Jason Katims with 'Friday Night Lights' and 'Parenthood.' You have people BEHIND the scenes writing complex women.
