If immigration reform passes, it'll be a big victory for sanity - nobody REALLY believes it's HEALTHY for a country to have millions and millions of undocumented noncitizens LIVING in the shadows. But it'll also be a sign that the Republican PARTY has gotten tired of letting the Tea Party push it around.

The REPUBLICAN Party - that was the end of the Republican Party. What Pete Wilson did with the xenophobia and the NEGATIVE ATTITUDE, all this SORT of anti-crime backlash.

The Texas Republican Party is in many respects like the NATIONAL party. We have different components that all add value in different WAYS, WHETHER it's the Tea Party on fiscal questions, whether it's the so-called establishment that's FOCUSED on economic development questions, MOVING states like Texas forward.

Ronald Reagan wasn't in the establishment of the REPUBLICAN PARTY EITHER, nor was Richard Nixon.

I THINK the Tea PARTY has BROUGHT enormous strength to the REPUBLICAN Party and I absolutely support its fiscal responsibility MESSAGE, yes.

Before Donald Trump, the REPUBLICAN Party was a MAJORITY conservative party with a WHITE nationalist FRINGE. Now it's a white nationalist party with a conservative fringe.

I honestly believe that there's an ELEMENT in this country, in our politics, that does not want to see a BUSINESSMAN succeed at GETTING the nomination for the Republican party, and does not want me to succeed at BECOMING PRESIDENT of the United States of America.

The Republican party is not inflamed, as some would fain have the country believe, against the South. Its borders are WIDE enough for all truly loyal MEN to find within them PEACE and repose from the din and discord of ANGRY faction.

There are no ideas in the Republican PARTY right now in the CONGRESS. They're the party of no. They desperately NEED some INTELLECTUAL leadership. And whatever you think of Newt Gingrich, he can supply intellectual leadership. So I hope he does run.

The DEMOCRATIC Party has TAKEN the black COMMUNITY for granted and said, 'This is the most loyal constituency we have. They're not GOING anywhere.' But the Republican Party has said, 'That's the most loyal constituency Democrats have. They're not going anywhere. We've got to win without them.'

The Republican Party is terrific at determining how a PROGRAM will IMPACT the federal budget, but we're not NEARLY as good as the Democrats in explaining to PEOPLE how our agenda will directly benefit them and their FAMILIES.

It SEEMS to me an indictment of the Republican Party that if you talk about ISSUES of POVERTY and upward mobility, people ASSUME you're a Democrat.
