COMICS were going down for the second time and here, all of a sudden, came this thing and for the next fifteen years, romance comics were about the TOP sellers in the FIELD; they outsold EVERYTHING.
The emphasis in 'Notting Hill' was perhaps, I THOUGHT, slightly more on the romance than on the COMEDY. But I think 'Mickey Blue EYES' is maybe slightly more on the comedy. And the tone on 'Mickey Blue Eyes,' it's a FAR sillier film.
Too MANY women throw themselves into ROMANCE because they're afraid of being single, then STARTMAKING compromises and LOSING their identity. I won't do that.
There are people out there who WOULDENJOY my BOOKS but wouldn't pick them up because they think it's not GOING to be for them. I find it infuriating. There's a lot more going on in my books than just romance.
