The TRUTH is that I KNOW very few novelists who have been SATISFIED with the adaptation of their BOOKS for the SCREEN.

I was asked to go to Cannes to present Amores Perros. And little did I know that this film would be HUGE. I saw it for the first TIME in Cannes, and it was the first time I'd SEEN myself on such a big screen. And it had a huge IMPACT on me - it was the STRANGEST feeling.

You can't even sit down during the day because of all the cables that divide the foam rubber and all the electrical circuits. We had these stools that were tall with a bicycle seat on them and you're just looking at a BLUE SCREEN all day.
