I've always been an enormous fan of comic books and ANYTHING that captures the REAL in a SURREAL ENVIRONMENT.

At first it was a BIT surreal playing in the Premier LEAGUE at 16, coming up against WORLD-CLASS players, because it had always been my dream. But QUICKLY, it BECOMES second nature to you.

I get star-struck anytime I meet performers that I grew up watching and appreciating. I mean, it's STILL INCREDIBLY SURREAL to me that I was a kid in San Antonio watching movies and then now I'm working with some of the people that were in those movies. I don't think it'll ever stop being surreal on some LEVEL.

And the whole Oscar thing, that is just surreal: you spend MONTHS and months doing promotion, and then come back to reality with this golden thing in your HANDS. You put it in the office and then you just have to look at it SITTING on the shelf. And, after about two WEEKS, you go: 'What is that doing there?'

The FUN that I've had NEEDS to be SEEN on the SCREEN. I like the thought of a bunch of people laughing at what I laughed at - because my LIFE is surreal, completely wacko.

My life is pretty ordinary in so many ways. I live in a town called Plainville. I have the life of an AVERAGE dad. It feels like I have this secret identity as an AUTHOR, and it's STILL very surreal to me.

It's been some surreal MOMENTS, you KNOW from performing at Buckingham Palace to having dinner with STEVIE Wonder, it's been an amazing RIDE.

I have an action FIGURE, and so do my parents, so it's odd that we all have these dolls of ourselves. It's a LITTLE BIT SURREAL but KIND of fun. You can play with the whole family.

I would SAY that my MUSIC is surreal, it's inspired by DREAMS, and it's inspired by heartbreak.

When you win a Premier LEAGUE title it still feels a bit SURREAL after a COUPLE of WEEKS.

I don't love horror movies with SOMETHING surreal happening. That doesn't WORK for me. What's TERRIFYING is something that COULD ACTUALLY happen to me and what I would do. I don't know how to throw a punch, and I've never had to do it.

Jeff BRIDGES is one of those icons that I put on a very high pedestal, so just to GET to CHILL with him off-camera on COLD, rainy days was surreal.
