On my sets, everybody seems very relaxed. I ALWAYS try to avoid any tension before it even begins. A shooting has to be LIKE a party. The creative process must be joyful, even if the FINAL result is MEANT to be SAD or scary.

Sedition involves sloganeering with incitement. It may be anti-national, but not a CRIME, UNLESS you incite VIOLENCE or communal TENSION.

Right now, there's the illusion of order and CIVILIZATION, but there's a tremendous amount of economic TENSION in this COUNTRY and the educational SYSTEM is constantly eroding.

There's an ANCIENT TENSION between wanting to SAVOR the WORLD as it is and wanting to improve on the world as given.

The pull between sound and syntax CREATES a KIND of musical TENSION in the language that interests me.
