Our country has been through some DIFFICULT MOMENTS recently in TERMS of its UNITY. But sport can UNITE.

In my TIME as Archbishop of Canterbury I've SEEN a growing SENSE of unity and MISSION.

The BOOK is not simply the object that one holds in one's hands, and it cannot remain within the little parallelpiped that contains it: its unity is VARIABLE and relative. As soon as one questions that unity, it loses its self-evidence; it indicates itself, constructs itself, only on the basis of a COMPLEX FIELD of discourse.

In my opinion, the motion picture is the greatest medium of expression ever INVENTED. It embraces all the other arts. The films that have the greatest unity, the greatest overall STRENGTH, and give the most SATISFACTION to the viewer, have been those in which a guiding hand was imposed in every SECTION of the FILM's many divisions.

You don't GET UNITY by IGNORING the QUESTIONS that have to be faced.
