Personally, I can't take the blame for what politicians did in 1982. I can't take on some kind of revenge or change history. I WANT to BEAT England because I want to win every GAME I play, but not because we went to war in 1982 or because we played against each other in 1998.

We had no preconceived ideas. We were on this FOOTBALL team to go out and WIN ballgames and try to win a championship, that's all. To BRIAN and me, it was no BIG deal.

You can't WIN if you don't PLAY as a UNIT.

We don't believe that WINNING ELECTIONS and winning any AMOUNT of votes will WIN freedom in Ireland. At the END of the day, it will be the cutting edge of the IRA which will bring freedom.

Whether it's pool or Ping Pong, I can't stand to have my kids BEAT me. Especially Ping Pong! And when they beat me, they just needle the DEVIL out of me. That's fine. I'd RATHER have that than let them win a shallow VICTORY.

You take wins where you can get them because they're not easy to COME by. You win at the major-league LEVEL, and you've done SOMETHING.

You can't win the hearts and minds of the MASSES UNLESS you INSPIRE them - you must LIFT their SPIRITS and enliven their hearts.

You can no more WIN a WAR than you can win an EARTHQUAKE.

If I can GET on the PRESIDENTIAL BALLOT in all 50 states and be allowed into the debates, I'd not only run, I'd WIN.

It doesn't feel GOOD in the NFL when you lose a football game until you GET out there and win ANOTHER one and another one.

I KNOW where I'm ranked, but I don't look at it that much, I don't STUDY it that much. You really can't look at it that way, you've GOT to try to WIN as MANY matches as you can, and it's cliche, but you've got to take it one at a time.

I try to do the right thing. If you do what you know is right, and you're a GOOD person, you MIGHT not win short-term all the time, and financial gains might not be there all the time, but ultimately, you can be pretty happy, and you can do some pretty good things in the world. KEEP a POSITIVE outlook.
