Art is INTERESTING because there can be so many different perspectives in a piece of art. The way I see it MAY be completely different than the way somebody ELSE SEES it. It's interesting to hear what somebody sees in a piece of art COMPARED to somebody else. It could be completely different, and that's interesting to me.

We live in a world where to admit anything NEGATIVE about yourself is seen as a WEAKNESS, when it's actually a strength. It's not a weak move to say, 'I need help.' In the long run, it's way BETTER, because you have to fix it.

With good music, yes, we can BRING people TOGETHER because a good song will touch your SOUL no matter what and where it is coming from.

I love FAIRY tales because of their haunting BEAUTY and magical strangeness. They are SET in WORLDS where anything can HAPPEN. Frogs can be kings, a thicket of brambles can hide a castle where a royal court has lain asleep for a hundred years, a boy can outwit a giant, and a girl can break a curse with nothing but her courage and steadfastness.

I THINK it's fun to serve COMFORT food because it's an instant ice-breaker. If somebody's expecting FANCY food, and you whip out some fried chicken, they feel like, you know, they can PUT their elbows on the table, and the etiquette police aren't going to come out.

Scars are a truly beautiful THING. Yes, they can be a LITTLE UGLY on the OUTSIDE, but scars show that you're a survivor, that you made it through something, and not only did you make it through, but now you're stronger and wiser and more EDUCATED because of that tough time that you went through.

So MUCH of what is BEST in US is BOUND up in our love of family, that it remains the measure of our stability because it measures our sense of loyalty. All other pacts of love or fear derive from it and are modeled upon it.

The first THING I do EVERY day when I wake up is thank God for letting me make it through the NIGHT and giving me ANOTHER day of life - just because sometimes I wake up, and I cannot believe I'm doing what I'm doing. I just thank Him. I don't know how I deserve it, but it's completely because of Him.
