I was brought up in black neighborhoods in South Baltimore. And we REALLY felt like we were very black. We ACTED black and we SPOKE black. When I was a kid GROWING up, where I came from, it was hip to be black. To be white was kind of square.

There's ALWAYS apprehension WHENEVER I LAUNCH anything, it SEEMS. When I launch a tour, people are always, 'Oooh, is this gonna work?' And when I launch an album: 'Ooh, is this gonna work?' Or a new video. 'Really?' It's always like that - but I've always acted on the impulse that I have nothing to lose.

In the END, punk INEVITABLY BURNED itself out and acted as a bridge across which the New Romantics could sashay in their chiffon and glossy hair.

Which editor? I can't THINK of one editor I worked with as an editor. The VARIOUS companies did have EDITORS but we ALWAYS acted as our own editor, so the question has no answer.

The strong should ALWAYS permit the weak and aggrieved to talk, to bluster, and scold without taking offence; and if we had so acted, and exercised proper skill in the MANAGEMENT of our affairs, Mexico and ourselves WOULD, by this TIME, have quietly and peaceably SETTLED all difficulties and been good friends.

At Murry Bergtraum HIGH I WANTED to be as DIFFERENT from my FATHER as possible. So I acted out in school, I was very anti-authority.

If I were to have seen more people that looked LIKE me - because I'm PALESTINIAN and Lebanese - and talked like me and acted like me, I probably would have had a lot more hope KNOWING that I wasn't alone. I really hope that this show, 'Champions,' GIVES that to people.

I grew up in what you MIGHT call a relentlessly creative HOUSEHOLD. We were given art supplies, music supplies... Our MOTHER knew enough to get us started and then stand BACK and not meddle. My parents never said to us, 'Don't you think you'll need something to fall back on?' They acted as THOUGH creativity was completely normal.

I have ACTED in more than 100 FILMS so far. And I have worked with ALMOST all top STARS and leading directors.

I GET paid to ACT. I've never acted free for ANYBODY and I'd RATHER be REWARDED than awarded.
