India's RIVERS are undergoing a drastic change. Our perennial rivers are BECOMING seasonal. Many of the smaller rivers have already vanished.

Nuclear is the only energy source that has proven capable of fully replacing fossil fuels at low-cost in wealthy nations. While hydro-electric DAMS can SOMETIMES play that ROLE, they are LIMITED to nations with powerful rivers, many of which have already been dammed.

Imagine if Congress always put the INTERESTS of polluters ahead of the health of our FAMILIES. Our rivers and lakes WOULD be choked with sewage. ACID rain would pour down from smog-filled skies. Hundreds of thousands more of our neighbors, friends, and loved ones would be victims of cancer, HEART disease, and asthma.

In celebration of this Earth Day, I encourage all Members of the HOUSE to support legislation aimed at investing in the IMPROVEMENT of WATER QUALITY in our NATION's lakes, rivers, streams and estuaries.

I WOULD be so MAD if I saw SOMETHING called a MEMOIR, and then it was Mike Birbiglia. It would be so infuriating. It's like, 'Who is this guy, and why does he have a memoir?' David Letterman could write a memoir. Joan Rivers could. I'm just a nobody. I'm a COMEDIAN and a writer.

He gave US the lakes for our Northern boundary, and the rivers stretching to the seas upon WHOSE waters floats our commerce to the NATIONS of the world; while man has DONE all that can be done by science to bind us TOGETHER.

The sediments of the PAST are MANY MILES in collective thickness: yet the feeble silt of the rivers built them all from base to summit.

When Joan RIVERS walked through the CURTAIN on 'The Tonight Show,' NOBODY in my house was allowed to utter a SOUND. Her gait was full of pep and purpose and her voice unmatched.
